Buddha Boy attacked and injured a guy with his sword?

I was surprised to read this (Nepali), it says that Ram Bahadur Bomjon, the Buddha Boy attacked and injured a guy with his sword. The blog entry refers to a Nepalese newspaper “Naya Patrika”, according to which Bomjon attacked and injured 22 years old Anil Khatri with his sword because Khatri entered the meditation premises without permission.

The report seems conflicting — first it says that Khatri was taken into control for three hours before being attacked in presence of committee members, and later quotes a committee member Yekananda Kunwar, who says: “Khatri was attacked because he tried to enter the meditation premises with a Khurpa (Nepali knife) when no one was around”.

To me, all this sounds a bit strange — a person meditating for peace resorting to violence, but again the facts are not clear yet! hopefully more details will emerge soon.

[Thanks for the link, Bharat.]

it is not clear if he really carry sword or not.how ever from the view point of deep budhist knowledge those who sacrifice his whole life for setien beings he hav right to atack one being in order to save coundless being.but holly person never atack other by anger but with more love.you know how?it is becoz holly person know if he let that person attack hem that person wil sufer more suffering in his next life becoz of natural cause and efect.so if holly person realy have deep compasion holy person suppose to attack some one who trying to atack hem in order to help some on who trying to attack holy person.so dont be narrow mindid ,budhism is so deep and profound….in the sutra by budha.there is same story of one of buddhas previes life.in that story bodisatva kill one person in order to help that one person and many other person in the ship in cea.
    thank you

thank you for posting stories on him, and keeping me [and others] informed. Ram is fascinating to me and i for one, will do everything i can to be able to see him. except, you know, walk up too close to him. 🙂
I am not Buddhist, nor from Nepal. just a curious american girl who admires his bravery and commitment. I wish that people would stop saying hateful things about him and just wait and see how things turn out.

  7. Hi! I’ve been following your weblog for a long time now and finally got the bravery to go ahead and give you a shout out from Porter Texas! Just wanted to mention keep up the great work!

I do like the way you have framed this specific challenge and it really does supply me personally some fodder for consideration. However, coming from what precisely I have witnessed, I really hope as the actual responses pile on that people today stay on issue and in no way get started upon a soap box involving some other news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this excellent piece and although I can not necessarily concur with this in totality, I regard the standpoint.

    Dear Niranjan,

I hope you do not consider as spamming when I add the Controversial Guru article link here again, as I wish that more people are informed about the dangers which can happen to just anyone, even to his humble devotees as I was in 2011… Had I had enough information before, i would certainly not trust him and maybe not even go to Nepal. But already that time the media was silenced and truthful articles deleted, and we could not learn about Anil Khatri, the Spanish woman (just after Anil’s case)and the further violence… So I wish that noone ever again would have to suffer from the uncontrolled violent seizures of Ram Bomjon, that’s why wish people are informed about what he did to me, Maata, Anil, 17 Madeshi men, 5 villagers on Sep 2, 2014, etc etc…

I am so worried that anyone could be attacked and go through that demoralizing torture as I went through, by Bomjon! Please read and spread the truth, proved by many media references and first-hand witness http://maitriyaguru.blogspot.com

    Thank you!

How THE SCIENCE explains the “fasting” and “meditation” of Ram Bahadur??? As you notice Ram Bahadur has really BIG AND LONG hair probably a wig made of natural hair EXTENTIONS (notice all other Indians have normal hair cut). Beneath the wig he puts plastic bag full with salt water or other nutritious substances. It’s very possible to pierce the tympanic membrane and to reach the throat via a thin tube. When he was 15 years boy he “meditated” under big tree for 4 months and he has lost weight because of this regime. He has a catheter to urinate and dippers for poop. Under the tree there was a tunnel (underground shaft).
His brother enters the tree through an underground shaft to change the dippers. They collected a significant amount of money.
Otherwise I know the meditation is the way to reach enlightenment, but ESPECIALLY this guy is a fraud. That is the scientific explanation you are searching for.
