Let me clear up a few points from your post.

You do not have to be signed in to use OpenDNS shortcuts, if you've set them up
on your network. (Being signed in doesn't hurt, and it means you can use the
shortcuts with a free account even if you don't set up a network.)

.cm filtering is a separate preference. By default, OpenDNS doesn't correct
that TLD because it's a valid top level domain for Cameroon. However, since the
registrar for Cameroon has created parked pages with Agoga for every
unregistered domain there, it's a nuisance -- so OpenDNS gives you a way to
have .cm corrected to .com.

Or simply use your free OpenDNS account and enable filtering of the .cm
wildcard.
