I guess that's what millions, if not billions of viewers were/are thinking. It would have been an ideal case and happy ending for Zidane. But Materazzi threw a bait and Zidane fell into it, we expected a football god to behave like a god but he (Zidane) proved to be a mere mortal. In his recent interview Zidane said that he's a man first and foremost. I feel sorry for him but totally understand his actions. Exactly, I also wish Zidane would’ve swallowed Materazzi’s words, won the Worldcup and then filed a criminal case against him as you’re suggesting. Zidane has a great history as the best player in the World and Europe several times. He's won the 1998 World Cup and many other trophies. Who's Materazzi? Someone who's trying to win the World Cup as a defender and was given the chance of his lifetime when Nesta got injured. Why on Earth did Zidane do that??!?!?!?! If I were him, I would've swallowed Materazzi's words, won the Worldcup and then filed a criminal file against him so he'd be a lesson to everyone else. But no! Zidane cannot do that in his last match ever, can he??!!?? You guys will not like what I'll say, but this is the truth. Whatever were the words Materazzi used to abuse Zidane, he was right, not because he said the truth, but because Zidane proved it.
